Southwest holds audition for upcoming theatre production

(Aug. 18, 2008) Hobbs, NM—Open auditions are scheduled at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 22 in the Mabee Southwest Heritage Center for University of the Southwest’s production of The Rock. A three-act drama, The Rock portrays the conversion of Jesus’ disciple, Simon Peter.

Students, staff get ready for the start of classes on Aug. 20

Nearly a hundred and a dozen new students moved into their University of the Southwest rooms and attended orientation sessions in anticipation of classes that start Aug. 20.

Students and parents prepared for college life by visiting university staff representing areas, such as:

On Saturday, students also had the opportunity to visit with local representatives of community organizations and businesses such as churches, non-profit groups, and banks.

And on the day before classes begin, Student Life staff have organized a trip to the Carlsbad Caverns.
